History

The Angel Hotel a grade II listed building dating back to the 18th Century, originally known as The Nags Head. It is probably the oldest surviving hotel in the locality, and was an important posting house on the main route from London to Lincoln and York. The building still contains many of its original features both internally and externally, including the Ostler Bell.

The hotel was bought back to life in 2013 by the current owner Carol Schofield to be run as a luxurious Bed and Breakfast. Carol takes an active role in the day-to-day running of the business. Over the past few years The Angel has undergone major refurbishment, yet still holds vast amounts of original features. Now offering twelve High Quality En-Suite Rooms to make your stay at our Bed and Breakfast more comfortable.
